How We Emerged
No one can forget March 11th, 2020. The Day Everything Changed. I remember those first few weeks in pure awe and fear that the world had changed so dramatically overnight. Life was a combination of FFTs on steroids and everyone was grasping to get their bearings.
Among the firsts, we found ourselves in the middle of an official company launch, asking the same question most of you were likely asking – how are we going to get through this?
I remember the fear and what ifs. I bet you do, too. It was frustrating and scary and alluring at the same time. There’s an adrenaline rush to fear that we don’t like to let go of.
But what’s also true about fear, is that it doesn’t help when your goal is to grow and create something. Which was exactly what we were doing. So we started asking different questions – better questions.
How will we help our clients navigate this?
This is where the energy shifted and the learning began.
We became obsessed with what would be possible for our clients if they could see this time as an opportunity for learning, inspiration and growth vs. fear, stress and overwhelm.
History shows miraculous growth during seasons that seemed impossible. Why not this season? What could happen for our community if they changed their minds? Most of us can’t even fathom the power of belief, but it’s remarkable.
We wanted to see leaders challenge their beliefs so that they could write a story worth telling.
Our burning question for leaders: When that trying season is behind you, what would you WANT to have accomplished? More importantly, what transformation will you hope to have experienced?
This was a question for then and this is also the question for RIGHT NOW.
And because big questions and goals need structure and support, Emerge was born and it became a space for leaders to choose growth over fear and chaos. Women came, and they told their friends. Emerge went from 6 weeks and 2 individual calls to 8 weeks and 3 calls and it officially became a leadership course for women. Ten cohorts and three years later, leaders still say Emerge was the highlight of their week.
Where are you now?
I hear a lot of things in our community and conversations:
- “This year has been a really hard start for me”
- “I’m not sure what my next step is”
- “I wish I could navigate my team dynamics and organization better”
- “I want to create more influence”
- “I love my job, but I’m on the edge of burnout”
- “I’m exhausted and I have no time”
- “I don’t know how to let it go and let others do their jobs”
What women are not saying, is who they really are. That they are strong, brave, hungry, passionate, inspired humans who know they want more for their lives and believe that more is really possible.
This is where Emerge comes in.
A space where women leaders meet other women leaders walking through similar challenges, fears, and opportunities. We start the journey by finding clarity and motivation for change, exploring self-awareness to assess how well leaders are really leading, disrupting the patterns that don’t serve that vision, and establishing a plan for going to the next level. This proves to be a powerful approach and women truly do transform in the span of the Emerge experience.
This is my favorite time of year to lean into change. What about you – is there something you want to see differently right now? I know you’re brave and hungry – the question is, are you willing to lean in to find out what’s possible when you are?
So much waits for you on the other side of doing something differently. Saying YES to the invitation to see what’s next. One step is all it takes.
