I love comfort. I always have.

It’s soft, predictable, efficient.

AND when I stay there too long—it quietly shrinks my world.

Getting out of your comfort zone doesn’t mean blowing up your life. It means finding the edge and taking one honest step past it.

Last week, I noticed some of my defaults:

-Staying in my office all day long
-Overthinking small (and big) decisions
-Holding onto tasks too long instead of delegating
-Rethinking choices I’ve already made
-Overworking details

I also noticed places I’d love to redesign my approach:

-Picking up the phone instead of waiting for the “perfect” time
-Speaking up with truth rather than letting the moment pass
-Choosing risk over clinging to what feels safe

Even small shifts send a powerful signal to our brains: I’m not settling.

So I’m practicing three simple steps for pushing out of my comfort zone:

1. Spot it: Where am I coasting?

2. Name it: What is this pattern doing for me—AND what is it costing me?

3. Nudge it: One step past easy. Ask the harder question. Delegate sooner. Send the email.

Here’s what I am learning…

Discomfort is NOT the enemy—it’s data. It tells you you’re on the edge of growth.

So here’s the real question: where’s your comfort zone right now?

And what is it quietly costing you?

The stretch doesn’t have to be huge. But it does have to be a choice.

What one step past easy could you take this week?
